Month one done!

Well last night’s weigh in was the end of the first full month of Operation Beast Mode. So far I have lost 9.6kg (21.12lbs = 1 stone 7 lbs) which I’m pretty happy with. My spreadsheet reckons at my current rate of loss I’ll be at my target 120Kg by the 12th of October this year. I think perhaps my calculations on this are a bit optimistic but you never know!!

The only downside so far, is that I’m starting to get aches and pains in my joints. Both my knees and ankles are taking a bit of a beating just now, it had to happen sooner or later I suppose. With all the activity of late they simply aren’t used to it, Spike has given me some contact details for a sports therapist guy that might be able to help me out. I just want to make sure that I don’t cause any injuries and have to slow down training. I have been popping Cod Liver Oil daily for a while now (pre-dating Operation Beast mode) so it’s hard to feel if it’s possibly helping or not, I’ll have a look into alternative supplements to see if they help.

Training so far really hasn’t been difficult, I think because in the past I have trained hard and at times a little excessively, the regime that Spike has me on is very much taking the slow and steady path so it’s actually a nice change of pace. I’m looking forward to getting back to BJJ once my blood pressure and weight drops. I’m hoping to feel a real difference when I return, I know I’ll be rusty but I’ll overcome after a few sessions.

All in all I’m happy with progress, it’s great to know that each day that goes by I’m getting lighter and healthier and that I’ll never be this big again. Thanks again for all the support you guys have given me, it really is a huge boost and it keeps me focused on the goal!
